Today i was wondering what "tricks" (don't know what else to call it!) everyone's piggies can do so I decided to ask you guys what yours can do...

My 2 now wheek on commamd just by me making clicking noises with my tongue! It's great! Whenever I make this noise they jump up on the bars, wheeking their little heads off! :))

So is there any tricks that your piggies can do...? :)

I don't know if knowing their name counts as a trick, if it doesn't... well then, they don't know any. xD.

I think knowing there names counts as a trick Pengwhen. Mine don't know their names as there is six of them, you call one name and they all look. Mine wheek and come running when I approach the cage, they will run outside their shed to the outside part and bite the bars if I'm not quick enough with their food. :p A few of them stand up on their back legs and "beg" for food. I'm trying to teach my eldest Rose to circle, she will if veggies are involved haha. :))

Rusty and Lillith know 2. If I'm sitting on the couch and I put them on the floor they know the way to their cage, and when I still had their old cage they could climb in!
The other trick is whenever I make a kissy noise they wheek!:))

If peeing in my hair counts as a trick, Ant has got that down to perfection.

Other than that, not a thing haha.

Does climbing out of the cage count? When it's time to eat, I open the side, they get up on their bridge and slide down the side of the cage to get out. Sometimes if I forget to close the cage, they let themselves out and come and get into bed with me. That's always fun at 4 in the morning. :)

All of my 10 pigs know their own names - not sure if that counts as a trick.

6 out of my 10 pigs will come and give you a kiss on the cheek/lips in return for a piece of their favourite food.

2 of my boys (Homer & LB) learned how to run up the stairs - they couldn't grasp the coming back down, i can only guess they were afraid of falling :{

1 of my boys (Wexford aka Dappy) will come and help clean his cage if you ask him - well he doesn't really help he just wonders around checking the fleece ive just laid down - the problem is he normally stands on the piece I'm trying to bulldog clip, so cleaning out takes twice as long with him helping :)):p

Another of my boys (Shadow) knows when to come down his ramp when we hoover the cage out - we just tell him 'it's all done now' and he jumps out of his litter tray and strolls down the ramp to check things over - normally followed by a popcorning frenzy.

When Shadow was poorly with a URI and had to be separated from his cage mate (in a cage upstairs away from all the other pigs), he learned that if he constantly nibbled the bars of his cage (very loud - in fact so loud it could be heard downstairs and over the sound of the TV) that i would come and open the cage ready for him to jump out - however he wouldn't jump/come out of the cage until i placed a pillow just outside the cage base - so he could jump on to it :p

The biting of the bars has extended further to just about every tea time, when they want the slave to move quicker they bite them making as much noise as possible!

Wow! This is all very impressive! How did you teach them all their names? :))

When I had Petal and Smartie they would come running if I said Piggy Treats.

Pedro & Panda don't really do anything like that yet as they are still a bit wary. But they can make dandelions disappear in a flash:))

I think knowing their names is def a trick! Lol

My boys know their names...

They will come and give me pig kisses when i say "kisses!"

Hmmm...

If i make a "wheeeeek wheeeek" noise they wheek...lol

And they are the most adorable little things everrrrrr...does that count as a trick?! Lol

Wow! How did you teach them their names? If being the most adorable things ever does count as a trick then my girls can do that one perfectly!

Not sure if i ever taught them their names - just from day one of getting each pig they were named and we've always called them by this. I suppose calling them by their name and when they come over giving them a piece of their favourite veg helped them associate the sound as being something they should come. I suspect it's my voice tone they come for as opposed to their actual name ;) Plus i am the veggies person, so they come when they see us anyway :))

Ah right! :)) cool. My girls know that I'm the veggie person too so they come straight over to me!

My Freddie (RIP) used to climb up and give you a peck on the lips if you made kissy noises :)

I wasnt trying to teach them, really...my husband, son, and myself alwaaays come to their cage and Just talk to them each individually, saying their name over and over. Or if one of them is popcorning/wheeking we will talk to that one pig and say his name etc. I didnt realize tbey each knew their names until i had them each out separately one day and while in their tunnel would say their name and they came to me. Lol <3
