Just had my girls out. Pickle is on metacam and baytril as she has a very rattly chest. But my other 2 seem to have developed the squits. Everytime i put a tissue to brosie's bum she squits. I have never had this in a pig before. They are all eating and drinking fine. Any suggestions?

Pickle is 5. Brosie is 3 ish and chilli is about 2 months old. They all went to the vets last weekend for a check up and apart from pickle the other 2 were fine

Hey Cat, Sorry to hear this. Is it totally water as in diarrhea or soft poo's. If it is diarrhea then they need to see a vet ASAP as diarrhea is not good with piggies.

Watery, stinky diarrhea is an absolute emergency; it can kill.

If they have just got soft poos, please take them off any fresh grass and veg for a few days until their poos have firmed up again; then re-introduce fresh food slowly and carefully in order to prevent a reoccurance. See a vet if the problem persists for longer than a day or two. Have they been out on the fresh, damp grass today?

Thanks guys. I have just had them all out for 30 mins before i get ready for work. Pickle and chilli are fine but brosie has really squishy poo. Its a lot better than last night. But if she is no better when i get home tonight i will take her to the vets

Just read abour runny poo from antibiotics. She had some eye drops last week.
She didnt go on the grass yesterday. She did have really watery poo yesterday but it wasnt black like it says on guinea lynx

To be honest I wouldn't have thought the antibiotic eye drops would have caused her a gut problem, if she were my piggy I would be taking her to a guinea pig savvy vet for a check up as runny poo (even if it's not black) is very dangerous, as has already been pointed out, and is definitely not normal in pigs.
