:agr:

There is no set amount - they drink the amount they need to. The amount they drink from a bottle/bowl is also affected by how much veg they get.

As long as you are seeing wet patches in the cage and their drinking habits dont dramatically change, then that's fine

kinda scared bcs it said it's sign of diabetes. should i take off the bottle if i think they drink too much?

No, do not take their water away - that would be a very bad idea.
You dont need to worry - they will drink the amount they need to drink.
Drinking water does not mean they have diabetes.

so it still fine if one of them drinking for 3times in 5minutes?

There is no set amount of how much they should drink and when they should drink it. You can only go by what is normal for your piggies.

A change in drinking habit can be of concern but equally it could just be because they are thirstier that day, perhaps haven't had as much veg, perhaps it is hotter etc

what do ypu think?

I don’t think you need to worry about the water - if your piggies are eating normally with loads of hay , grass and then 1 tablespoon of pellets and 1 cup of veggies each day then they are fine - I have 2 boars one drinks more than the other

Please don’t worry. They all have their own individual needs. There is no set amount they should be drinking - some drink a lot, others not much.

You only need to watch water intake if there is a dramatic change from what is normal for them.

What we cannot do is tell you whether your piggies are drinking excessively because we know nothing about them.

I have four piggies and all they drink differing amounts - one drinks a lot and can empty half a bottle in a day, one will drink about quarter of a bottle a day and the other two barely drink anything and their bottles don’t ever seem to go down at all.

One of my girls drinks at least twice as much as the other, but both are drinking a healthy amount for them and neither has any health issues. We have had a guinea pig with diabetes, but it is not common; her diabetes was controlled by medication (not all cases of diabetes even need medication, but hers did), and she led a normal life. My point? Try not to fret if your guinea pigs are drinking different amounts of water, as it is not necessarily an indication of an issue. It's not a death sentence even if a piggy does have diabetes (and I'm not saying yours does); it can be as simple as a slight change in diet.
