Heeeeyy, I'm new on this forum,
My name is Nino and I have 2 new guinea pigs; Pepino and Taco.
Pepino is a Peruvian and Taco a Coronet.

Taco is 1 month en 6 days and Pepino is 1 month and 17 days.
Pepino feels so much skinnier in comparison to Taco.

What is the perfect weight of an 1.5 mont old guinea pig?

Thank you

Hi and welcome!

How much are your boys weighing? Piggies can weigh anything between 40-140g at birth and 800-1800g as adults, so their individual weight can vary so widely that any weight charts are pretty useless when it comes to guinea pigs. I have currently got three litter sisters and the weight difference between them was already 100g when they came here at 8 week old; it is even bigger now, but all three are actually doing well and are a good weight for their age. ;)

The important things is that your boys grow well without being overfed. They have over a year to go until they reach the end of their growth, so both have every chance to realise their own genetically determined ideal weight and size. ;)

I would recommend that you serve any veg and pellets in two bowls spaced well apart and rather in more than one daily portion, so Pepino has a better chance of gettin his fair share.
