My Guinea pig has repeated absesses. I had him from from Pets at home. It was suggested that I go back to them regarding paying for his vet bills which are in excess of £700 to date. Does anyone know how I am positioned legally with this?

Welcome to the forum.
I can’t advise you as I don’t have the knowledge but I have got a piggy who suffered from a persistent abscess.
They are not nice to deal with and last year in discussion with my vet we decided on surgery to remove the abscess sac completely.
It worked and we’ve never had a problem since.

I’m sure that someone with the relevant experience and knowledge will be along to answer your question.

I am sorry your guinea pig has been ill.

Technically you can approach Pets at Home to help with the cost of vet care, but a lot will depend on how long you have had him.
They will often help with vets bills but it does depend if your guinea pig could have already been ill when you bought him.
They also sometimes insist that you use their in store vets.

Hi and welcome

Where is the abscess located?

Abscesses can be persistent. in some cases, an operation may be considered but it depends on where it is located and how much surface space it is taking up.

I am linking in our member with the greatest experience with abscesses for you. @furryfriends (TEAS)

Abscesses are certainly no fun... I'm sorry you are dealing with this. How long have you had your guinea pig? I'm not in the UK so can't advise on Pets At Home... I hope you are able to get some help with this!
