It's great to hear that Gizmo is doing so well. I love the picture of him being weighed it would make a great avatar picture for you.

I know Stewart and I would do it if I knew how lol , will have a look on laptop tomorrow and try sort it haha x

Great news! What was actually wrong with him in the end? :)

Its his teeth ..They were all spurred and his mouth all ulcerated but with the help of simon and debbie he is getting back on track ..I'm glad i joined this forum to seek advice and brought him down from Edinburgh to see simon as my own vet wanted to put him to sleep x

Awww bless him, I saw TMJ in the title but didn't know what it meant. I know, Debbie & Simon are true piggy angels :luv:

Its a jaw disease that humans get and seemingly guinea pigs too although kim maddock was not so sure about it lol ...My son actually has it you get it from grinding your teeth etc and your jaw gets sore ...I have had a sore jaw like my son now for couple of weeks so gizmo is going uphill and I'm going downhill lol but it was gizmos top teeth all spurred and hes attending weekly to have his teeth corrected and hopefully it will stretch to fortnightly then monthly and i would manage to bring him down on the train from edinburgh once a month :) x

Glad he is doing well so far.

My OH has TMJ but not all the time.

We have only had gizmo due to poor advice on purchase from pets at home ..But debbie has bonded him with another piggie now for me and hes loving it ! She sent me a video yesterday of his sharing apple with his new found friend it was lovely to see and brought tears to my eyes :) So glad i found this site you have all been wonderful

My son who is 25 has TMJ also and i have had very similar symptoms the past few weeks so gizmo is going uphill and I'm going downhill lol xx

Ah so you will be bringing 2 home? that's wonderful.

Oh no that's not good. My OH was given Diazepam for his once they realised it wasn't a tooth infection, but only after he had been given weeks of antibitoics which then set off a massive Colitis flare that put him in hospital for 2 weeks.

Yes and I'm so pleased for gizmo ..My son got a mouthguard made by the dentist to wear at night and says it helps him loads ...if mine persists i will need to see about it ..Dentist told my son its mostly caused by grinding your teeth in the night :( or stress can cause it too ....I hope your husband is on the mend now xx

I'm so happy for you and your daughter and of course Gizmo, this site is awesome the ppl on here have helped me through some really awful times, I'm just so happy for you that your piggy gets to live for a long time more :luv::yahoo::wub:

Me too debbie told me his eating is still a bit slow but hes getting there and she is hoping her wee friend will bring him on a bit more too , I miss him so so much :) xx

Yes he hasn't had it in a year or so. The mouthguard sounds a really good idea though.

That's wonderful that Gizmo has a friend.

Just catching up on this. How fantastic he has done so well! The guinea guardian angel Debbie who has worked miracles and you for bringing him down from Edinburgh. What a lovely story! Can't wait for the video! X

Gizmo loves Chester, and for the first time since he has been here, Gizmo has started to wheek and stand up at the bars looking for food whenever he sees me. I will add the video later so you can all meet his lovely new friend. xx

Thanks so so much Debbie I can't thank you enough ! Melts my heart when I hear about how well he's doing now , he's come a long way and glad he's got a new friend , sounds like Chester is bringing him on now , thanks again Debbie @furryfriends Excellent Adventure Sanctuary x

Thought i would update you all about gizmo ..He was having problems with his front teeth and eating was still not right but his last appointment with simon he did not need much done at all and got these 2 videos in the last week x
