So after lunch today DD was looking in the fridge for a yogurt.
Me: Did you find one you liked?
DD: No. The only ones we have are the guinea pig yogurts.
Me: What? Guinea pigs can't eat yogurt. You know that.
DD: I know guinea pigs can't actually eat yogurt, but what I meant was we only have the flavour that they would eat if they could.
Me: What are you talking about? What flavour yogurt would a guinea pig eat?
DD: Celery. We only have celery yogurts.
Me: Celery yogurt? I have never even seen a celery flavoured yogurt.
DD: Look, these ones with red celery in them.
Me: I think you will find that most people call that rhubarb.
And before anyone starts worrying, my kids know guinea pigs can't eat dairy, and now they also know that guinea pigs can't eat rhubarb (or red celery if you are 9 years old and stubborn).
