This morning I dared pick up my elderly boar from his cage as it looked like he was having some issues with his mouth… how dare I?

Turns out he had a sharp piece of hay stuck between his bottom teeth so I go even further and take him inside and pass him to my mother. I then scrabble around to find some tweezers and take quite a bit of time to carefully remove this piece that was causing him issue.

It comes out quite easy.. fine. He’s an older pig, so I flip him over (very gently and kind) to check for any cleaning needed done down below. Low and behold he has a small sperm rod and I do him the favour of carefully removing it, likely making everything a lot more comfortable down there.

He got a treat and we headed back outside. I now had to begin my checks of his neighbours and he sat there and glared me down the whole 20 minutes. Everytime I looked around he would begin to chatter his teeth.. like I was threatening his family.

They’re fantastic pets, don’t get me wrong but you would think I deserve credit of some sort… I guess not 😂

Second only to cats!

I think I actually get more gratitude from my cat, or she at least seems to appreciate feeling nicer after a shave? When I brush my dog though, she stares balefully at me the entire time like I'm committing the worst abuse of her trust possible!

Also to add to this list: changing my son's poopy nappies. You'd think sitting in his own poop would be worse, but apparently not 🤷

They'd miss us if we were gone :))

I remember getting death stares from Blitzen once because Comet got a blueberry. I had Blitzen and someone else had Comet, and Comet had settled quickly so got a sneaky one. Blitzen had his nose pointed towards them so not looking directly at them, but there's no mistaking that glare, if looks could kill...so I hastily found Blitzen a blueberry and in his haste he nearly got my finger, too.
