guinea pigs and dogs

If by 'bad bone' you mean no prey drive, this is likely to be because a bichon is not a working breed.

Hunting genes arent bad bones btw - it's dogs doing what they were bred to do. It's very desirable to have a high drive dog if you can harness that power to work the dog. But to put a purebred hunter with no steadiness training near guinea pigs and expect all to be well is foolhardy, as well as being unfair on the dog and, of course, the pigs.
She couldn’t hurt a fly and is very eager to please

My dog Poppy is a three year old Cavachon (Cavalier King Charles and Bichon Friese), she doesn’t have a bad bone in her body, she’s just not the brightest 😂 View attachment 114568
Cavachons are my favorite as they are not too big and not too small. They are also friendly at least my neighbors' dogs are,

When we're on walks and I pass other people with their dog(s) and they ask what breed she is when I reply they just look baffled
They're great dogs though

My mum's dog is a Jack Russell cross, she's scared of the piggies when they are in their hutch. She will go nose to nose with daisy through the bars and then run off round the corner and cry. However, when my mum first got her they were both living here and she caught and killed a rat in the garden within seconds. There is absolutely no chance I would let her near the piggies and I think the only reason she's ok with their hutch is because it was there before she moved in. Even when the piggies go out in the run I make sure they are supervised and if the dog is with us she isn't allowed to even get close to it to have a look

This is my brittany safe from the pigs - the pigs are indoors and that's her head poking through the cat flap from the outside! There's a lot of activity in my pig cage just now with this newly bonded trio - Tilly is far too interested in them:20190530_174441.jpg

I would not risk it. My sister has a cavalier and he would terrorize their poor rabbit.
I don't trust my young cat with my piggies, my old cat was fine. Too old to bother or be interested, but our new cat is only 3 and chases anything.
So the piggies have their own room ,secure cages and very sturdy runs for garden time.xx

I sometimes let my dog hang out with my pigs under supervision. She likes to lick them and is always wagging her tail around them. Whenever I put the pigs on the floor with her she lays down and wags her tail like shes getting belly rubs 😂😂. Yes is it true that dogs can attack pigs in the blink of an eye, you should always suprrvise your dog around gps. She is a 5 year old Basset Hound
