well I personally wouldnt risk it popcorning piggies may cause damage or if piggy was startled it may fun over hammy so I would keep them seperate and have different play times for each. Animals tend to like their own kind O0

Sorry should of explained better my hammy has escaped her cage is on top of nemo's cage if she fell in there would the guinea pig kill her

I would hope not but there is always a possibility your hamster may get squashed if it was tucked up asleep in the piggies cage, could you cover it with anything or move it so hammy couldnt get in :-\

The hamster will be going in a different cage when i find her thats if i ever find her

poor you and poor hammy I hope it pops out soon maybe its curled up waiting for night time fingers crossed let us know what happens O0

Oh dear :( what kind of hammy is she? a dwarf or syrian? Could you not have a look round the piggys cage for her and if shes not there cover it up to make sure she didnt get in there like Dazie said? x

Oh no, they're difficult to catch at the best of times :( try putting some of her fave food out in a little humane trap or something? what cage was she in? x

She was in a hamser cage with very small bars she has been in it a week and not managed to get out :tickedoff: not sure on her favorite foods as only had her a week

Ill tell you how they catch them. Bird nets!

Could you not set humaine traps for mice?

I think they use humane traps in P@H, i know someone who bought one who'd escaped and turned up in one of their traps and he was fine :)

You could try getting a bucket and make a little ramp leading into it, put some shavings in the bucket but don't fill it right up just enough for a soft landing and make a little trail of food, it's a long shot but worth a try.
Also I would clean your guinea pigs cage out just in case your hammie did fall in.
hope this helps O0

I have done the bucket trap O0 i have also looked under the floor boards have done a total check of nemo's cae and she is not in there

Good luck with it :) another trick is to put say 10 pumpkin seeds in each room then if any are missing, she is in that room :)

She shouldn't be in any other room as there is a big step that the rats struggle to get up

Don't worry about the Guinea Pig harming the Hamster.. its far more likely to be the other way round as Hamsters are far more agressive than piggies and they will take on a pig quite happily.

Guinea Pigs are the softies of the rodent world... bless them :D

I guess the hammy could bite the guinea as well as teh guinea treading on the hammy?

Hope you find her soon! :smitten:

well i went to bed last night with no sign of her i got up at 3.30 to go to the toilet and thought i would check and she was in the tub the little minx

awww glad you found her! we have a hamster called michael and he loves the guinea pigs.. he's a very laid back little guy and my guineas wouldnt harm a fly! so they like seeing him. they dont play together i just open his cage so he can stand at the door and say hello to whoever i may be holding :)
