hi.
ever since i first got guniea pigs they have always drank from a water bowl. about two days ago my youngest gave birth to three babies (we were told that the father was 'definatly' a female when we bought him), i would like to try to get them and their parents to drink from a water drip bottle seeming as they are so little and when the time comes i have no idea if they are going to be able to reach over the bowl and drink without falling in (overprotective i know :) )
so anyway, if anyone has any ideas or techniques on teaching babies and adult cavies this skill, i and my piggies would gladly appreciate it.
thanks in advance,
favvi

As far as I know, you don't always have to teach them. They can smell where the water is and come to it when they'r thirsty. You can try putting the bottle in front of a guinea pig and tapping the end of it, sooner or later he'll know. For the babies, they can learn from their parents.
