I've just finished a 6 shift week, tomorrow morning, 3 hours will be spent deep cleaning all 3 hutches, the shed, brushing and checking 7 hairy bitey things and brushing the lawn - the joys of pet ownership. ;)

I finished at 5 today and had to go for a nap before i could face it.
lol, oh god, i cant imagine having 7, i was practically floating out the house in a sea of pee and poo there as it was. I even stopped half way through to sit with a coffee amoungst all the stinky fleece cause i couldn't go on.
sexy times ;) haha.

That's not all piggies, 4 of them are big rabbits and all the poop they produce!

I clean my guinea Cage it looks
Fantastic then I put the guineas back in and within five minutes it looks like they haven't been cleaned for weeks :lol!:.With all the animals in my house I seem to spend my life cleaning cages . But I wouldn't change it for the world :D

It does take quite a bit of doing, I always make sure the fleece gets spot cleaned at least twice a day, that doesn't take long unless they poo up under the fleece (little monkeys). Then on sunday is the cleaning day, (with changing the main fleece twice a week) but the main problem is lining up the fleece properly! Drives me mad.

Normally Sunday is our big cage clean day, but the weather is going to be so bad tomorrow, we are doing it today... :D

I do mini clean outs Monday - Saturday and a big clean out on Sunday. Been so much easier since changing their bedding!

PAH!
I'd honestly love to see any wain spend an hour cleaning a piggy cage then an hour cleaning up the devastation afterwards 3x a week!

Ahhh, Friday night, how exciting! :|
That's hilarious! Your picture looks like our conservatory! I can see you've what looks like a very nice chest of drawers and lovely walls, completely covered in guinea pig stuff! While they're all nice and snug in their beautifully arranged cage! My (once) quite nicely decorated conservatory now looks like it's exploded!

I have two hamster cages, one four foot tank with hammy in, two large rat cages for seven rats, two dogs that ripped up a bag of rubbish in the kitchen last night, a five by three c&c with two litter trays and four puggies in and a fiveby four cage with six piggies and four litter trays in.The smaller bits if fleece and towel are changed every other day as are the litter trays and big fleeces once a week, swept out every day, the rats have their litter trays cleaned every day and fleece hammocks washed at least twice a week and full clean twice aweek and hamsters twice a week.I lose my hall when i do my piggies as the litter trays are put in the hall while sorting fleece ( that gets chucked outside in a heap.)When the piggy cages have been changed the dirty towels and fleece are shaken out and put in a wash bag and taken to my brothers three doors down as i have no washer at the moment.I then have to hoover up hay, shavings and poop from the hall.Obviously my living room is hoovered every day due to rats kicking out bedding and poop.My piggies alone you are talking at least an hour to feed them and sweep plus an extra half hour when small fleece needs changed then another half hour when litter trays need done.On full fleece change day i spend an hour a cage as once all towels and fleece out do full floor sweep.Once a month the piggies are put in runs in the kitchen and full room and cage clean done.Yeah, proper kids pets.My dogs are easier than my piggies

LOL. What Nicky said..
i will never moan again...except!
sometimes spot cleans just annoy me cause by the time I've finished it i feel like i should have just done the whole thing and got it over with since i make the same amount of mess and end up just as urine soaked as ever lol.
i actually found a guinea poop mixed in with change in my coat pocket recently while i was out. That's how far the mess spreads when i clean :( lol

It sounds like I've got it easy with my eight piggies. I Just sweep up poops and loose hay twice a day, vacuum once a week. The new Vetbed is the main problem. They use 4 small pieces in their grass huts and 2 large pieces under the pig-room hay-racks. These are all changed and washed twice a week. But I can only get so many in the machine. There are also the pieces of old towel that go under the Vetbed in the grass huts. They are changed every 3 or 4 days, depending on how wet they've got. When I've got a pile of them, they get washed too. A piggie slave's life is just one long round of washing!

LOL......i have 2 pigs. i feel slightly ashamed i even moaned in the first place.
pfft, how dare you lot make me feel like a lazy pig for lying stewing in a pile of ammonia smelling faeces covered rags after a half hearted 30 minutes worth of cage cleaning! haha

i loved doing it today though, cause i bought led lights from primark for round the cage to get them into the festive mood! yay! its always fun cleaning them out when i have new stuff for them, lol.

They really are starter pets aren't they.... Pffft!

Would love to see them conduct half the tasks we do with our starter pets. Especially those with more piggies than me and a full time job!

I only have two in seperate cages at the minute, spot cleaned everyday, cleaned out twice a week, one with a poorly eye, the other on antibiotics! Whilst going to university and studying.

I admire you @furryfriends Excellent Adventure Sanctuary

I have two in seperate cages too! Its so depressing, sometimes i just want to grab them both and make them kiss each others wee piggy lips and make friends....not too sure that would go down well though.
stubbourn little ladies! Hoping to soon get them each a friend they wont fight with like a couple of tiny drunks outside a pub.

bosshogg, your set up for them is so lovely. Wish i had a safe garden with grass :( i have to settle for stealing my friends garden grass lol
