As some of you know, when i got my Piggies about a month ago they were terrified due to bad handling from their 'breeder' (i know but i saw it as a rescue mission when i heard about the handling and they were going to end up in a rescue as i was the only one interested).

Anyway i've not been forcing them in the least, just sitting next to them and watching them (i've moved their cage next to where i sit). A couple of days a go i couldn't stop smiling as they're (well Frankie is, Bobby still runs but comes out when he knows i won't eat him) coming right up to the side of the cage when i open it :)) They've even started taking lettuce from me (they won't eat out of my hand yet)

I cleaned them out and weighed them (they're both gaining a rough average of about 50g a week good/bad?) and have great appetites. They're still funny being handled though.

Has anyone got any tips because as soon as i pick one of them up they start wriggling and wheeking trying to get back to each other. I managed to give Frankie a bit of a cuddle (about 5-10 secs) yesterday but haven't succeeded with Bobby yet.

I'm not one for forcing animals to do what they don't want to which i think is why it's taken 5 weeks to get to this level, i'm just wondering if anyone has tips to get them to trust me a little more?
Thanks

Sounds like they're doing really well so far, congratulations.
You could try putting them in a fleece or something snuggly for cuddles.
I think you're doing a great job and I'm sure it will all work out if you carry on with the slow but sure pace! :)

Thanks, this week my sister is away so i can put them on her bed (she has a cabin bed so it's pretty much completely closed off).
I'll definitely try fleece though as they also know how to scratch lol.
