Hi,

so my mum and dad are very busy with work and they can't check on my guinea pigs while I'm at school.

So i was thinking about taking them to school with me( With food and water bowl and a carrier)

I live in Australia.

Thank you

Daisy

I’m afraid I don’t think that would be a good idea for them. The changing of environment could potentially be stressful for them, even if it’s the same two places. Restricting their space also wouldn’t be good.

If you leave enough hay in the cage and water changed (2 bottles) then they should be okay during the day without being checked on. When you get home you can then refresh the hay and feed them their veggies (or morning if better for you).

The other thing you have to consider is whether the school would allow this.

They should be fine being left home while you are at school as long as you check water and hay before you leave. Even if your school allowed it, it would not be a good place for prey animals to be

School would be a very stressful environment for them. Your piggies will be fine during the day as long as they have hay and water provided before you go to school. Make sure their cage/Hutch is not in direct sunlight during the midday hours too as the sun can get very hot and they cannot move to a shadier place 😊

It’s lovely that you care about them so much! I go to school all day too, (I’m a teacher however). Believe me they would HATE school! I know mine enjoy a bit of relaxing time to themselves, just chilling in their pen - that’s what they like to do. Just make sure they have plenty of hay, water and are in the shade - they will be happy and you will come home to nice relaxed and contented piggies.
