It's quite warm here today and my mum and dad have just started a BBQ in the garden. It's on the patio by the house and my guinea-pigs are all in hutches at the end of the garden so they are quite far away from the BBQ, but I was just wondering out of interest if smoke from a BBQ would affect a guinea-pig?

Piggies respiratory systems are pretty sensitive, and you would expect a similar reaction from them if they inhaled smoke as if we did, but as long as the smoke doesn't drift over to them they may be ok.

Enjoy your BBQ. :)

Thank you. I doubt it affected them much because they were at the other end of the garden to the BBQ and the wind was blowing the smoke the wrong way but I just wanted to know.
