Hi and thanks for reading,
I would like to introduce you to Rosie. She is currently around 7-8 months old, the black and white piggy. Her sister is Lily.
She is the “boss pig” in this house, has a lot of personality and is a very happy pig. When I got her, she was very very skinny, only veg she seemed to be familiar with was carrot. Everything else she made a funny face to (she loves everything now!), her diet was strange, my guess is that a bowl of unhealthy muesli was put into her cage and that’s what she grew up with, accompanied by hay of course (which she didn’t eat enough of the first weeks). She also has a lot of cuts in her ears. I don’t think she came from a good place..
My question - is it normal for a piggy’s coat to change like this? When we first got her, we thought she was a teddy, like her sister, due to how “rough” she looked.

After only about a WEEK of having her, her fur was becoming less rough. Felt softer, had more shine to it

As of today, she’s at a perfect weight, has a very soft, silky, shiny coat. Her diet is very versatile. I suppose there might be some teddy in her, she still has some “floof” to her neck for example.

Is it normal, could it be thanks to a potentially bad diet as she was growing up? Or do some breeds vary?
Thank you for reading and sorry for rambling, can’t help myself, they’re too adorable
