Guinea pigs eating plastic!

Hi, my name is Natalie.
My three guinea pigs sometimes chew and even swallow little bits of the sticky tape that I use when repurposing carboard boxes as hidey holes.:(
Why are they doing this and how can I stop them?

You need to remove the tape on any boxes before giving it to them. They will generally chew on anything and everything.
 
Will they have any health problems with the small amount of tape they have already consumed of will it come out naturally?
 
Hopefully they’ll just pass it. Do keep an eye on them and get them to the vet if you see any change in behaviour or eating habits.
