My two guinea pigs have escaped into my garden through a gap in the cage. This has happened before, but they have always come back before dark. But this time they haven't come back. A lot of cats and foxes live nearby, so we're worried that they might have been eaten. How likely is it that they will come back, and how can I get them to?

Hi there, sorry your piggies have escaped. They may be hiding for safety somewhere. The best thing is to put their carrier (if you have one) and maybe some cardboard boxes -open end sideways - around the garden close to the edges/areas where they may be, containing some bedding that smells of them and some favourite foods. Hopefully they will come out and find them. Also playing some happy Guinea pig noises nearby might get their attention. I guess you would have to stay watching in case they do appear so you can get them in before they run away again.
Good luck!
