Hi. I've had my Guinea pigs about 6 months now and in the last few weeks they have started fighting. I have read into it but cant seem to find what I'm looking for.
Some back ground.
I got them at the same time. They are Male and have gotten along great since I got them and still do most of the time. They have a c&c cage 4x4 second level 1x4. They have two bowls, two houses, two lots of hay. They don't draw blood but do rip out lots of fur.
Any tips on what I could do to get them to stop? Or do I need to split the cage?
Please help

That’s a great set up there. I think your boys are probably going through the teenage hormone spikes that boars get. This leads to disputes every now and again. If blood has not been drawn and both are able to eat then try not to worry too much, it should pass. Keep a close eye on them, if things get too much an overnight separation may help calm things down.
There are some info pages on the guinea pig guides, here’s the link on boars, good luck, it can be nerve racking at times!

Hi!
Nothing wrong with the set-up or what you are doing. Your boys have hit the teenage months which are characterised by huge hormone spikes unfotunately.

@Bill & Ted has already given you our detailed link for the teenage months; it takes you through all the relevant aspects.

There is also a bit more information on the dos and don'ts that are especially important during teenage in this guide here: A Comprehensive Guide to Guinea Pig Boars

I don't have anything further to add about your boys, but just wanted to congratulate you on an amazing set up. You cage is great!
