I went to check on the fire and put some more wood on it. One of the windows is loose and so it fell down. At this point smoke was already pouring out (I have no idea why) and I couldn’t close the door until I’d fixed the window. There was enough smoke in the room to set off the smoke alarms. I immediately opened all of the windows and it disappeared quite quickly. However there was at least 2/3 minutes where two of my guinea pigs were in the room when there was a lot of smoke. I’ll keep an eye on them for the next few days but should I take them to the vets just in case? I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid or if the smoke could affect their health.

This is the fire I’m talking about just to show what I mean but the windows etc:

Hi, I'm not experienced enough to advise properly I'm afraid. I have guinea piggies but not a fire like this. I would tend to be cautious and take them to vets to be on safe side. x
