Looks like the Independent have had some Guinea news!
not sure i agree with everything the Dr says though, see what you think - but at least they're trying to rehome them :)

Special kind of rescue: guinea pigs

(there was another upsetting news article on a different site, some arse being cruel to Rabbits & Guinea pigs - the RSPCA are prosecuting him. So hopefully from his court case March 23rd he'll get his come uppance! hopefully there IS Karma in life!

'Because they need Vitamin C, they may drink Tang' :yikes:

Really?
But overall i think it was a nice positive article about how much character they have, and what interesting pets they make.
Sadly for me (aside from the Tang comment) I feel they were portrayed as cheap, easy, children's pets, but hopefully whoever does the home check will be a bit more realistic with any potential new owners.

Although the comment about training them to wheek when the fridge door opens did make me laugh.
I never realised it, but I must be a guinea pig trainer extraordinaire!

I thought it was the piggies who trained us to provide food whenever the fridge door was opened?

looks like you were the same as me... Yeeaap! Tang.... Jeez Noooo:doh:
Also the bit about the hay & fruit in the same sentence made it look like Hay should be rationed as well as fruit?

Cheap lol I reckon we spent about £1500 on Astro's monthly dentals and they were conscious dentals
Think my last bill for Grace's abscess was over £100 in one visit.... cheap pets they are definitely not!

LOL! think you may be right on that one!
