Ugh I had these guinea pigs for 2 weeks and I try to keep them in 75 degrees with my AC and their sick. I don’t understand how to not get these baby’s sick! I sleep with the fan during the night because it’s nice outside to I put a blanket on their cage and I put the fan circulating. Help me understand. I LIVE IN THE US BY THE WAY!

Hi!

Is their AC blasting straight at the cage? Are you living in a part of the US that has a dry/desert or rather a humid heat climate? Having the cage close to an air conditioning can cause URI; alternatively, the dry air from an AC unit can cause a runny nose.

Please have them vet checked. You can reclaim any vet cost from the pet shop that you incur because of illness because exposure and infection has likely happened at the shop. It may a bacterial respiratory infection, which requires an antibiotic.

I’ve already put my location also they are close to my AC I will try to move them but here in NJ it is very humid and hot at the moment. I try to keep them cool with my AC if I don’t put in my AC there is not why they could survive in my room. Do you suggest I get a humidifier?
