hi all, not been on here for a while but thought * could help me, Ive had my guinea pigs six months now and they've been eating fine, however this week they haven't touched their food or hay and barely touched their water, and they not going to the toilet, what do you think this could b? should i take them to the vets? or am i just panicking?

thanks in advance

vicky

You should take them to the vet asap - not eating is always a danger sign!

If you have two, it is either poisoning, great changes in temperatures or an infectious disease.

You may profit from weighing your piggies regularly, so you have a better grip on their food intake and can react as soon as something goes wrong.

Definitely an trip to the vets Vicky, it's important that you get them checked out. Hope it goes well.

Vicky, the lack of poops is down to not eating, it's a big concern from what you've described as guineas digestive systems slow down very quickly. How are they generally e.g. normal behaviour or lethargic etc.?

I agree with the others, please do see a vet ASAP and have them checked over. Keep us updated. xx
