I'm not sure who has seen this and who hasn't but there is currently a video doing the rounds on Facebook of two guinea pigs sat on remote control toy motorbikes whilst wearing little helmets.

Now, I'm all up for a bit of fun and I do admit, the piggies do look cute BUT I'm afraid I do not agree with it at all :(

The poor piggies look frightened to me and I dread to think what the piggies had to go through to get the trick 'right'. The position in which they are sat as the bikes move around doesn't look natural either and I worry for their delicate spines being made to sit like that.

I know that my 3 certainly wouldn't enjoy it and I wouldn't even try!

Why can't people just let animals enjoying doing natural things :(

I've been told that it's just a bit of fun and I shouldn't be so sensitive so I'm just wondering what other peoples thoughts and opinions are? Am I over reacting?

I've seen it, one of my friend sent it to me, but I totally agree with you - give me a video of a piggy train or a bowl of sprouts getting demolished any day

People keep tagging me in it too. Someone even suggested that I try my own piggies doing something like that.

I think not!

I much prefer to see videos of them doing natural things. The piggy train one is so cute

No I don't think you are overreacting at all. What a stupid thing thing to do as there could be a accident and the guinea pigs could be seriously hurt or worse and the poor little things were probably scared half to death. Some people should NEVER have animals. I wont be watching the video because that would just upset me.

I've seen that, makes me angrier that the ignorant commenters are saying "no they're not scared, you PETA losers" because they're stupid and think that it's okay lol.

It's clearly messed up, just like it's not okay for chimps to ride bikes in the circus, or to have dancing bears for our own amusement.

Some people are just ignorant and can't see past themselves and their wants or needs. I don't like people.

It's encouraging people to do the same or similar

I agree!

Yup, same here. And it isn't just the remote control bikes - the pigs seem to be wearing hats tied around their necks, poor things :(

I'm so fed up of being tagged in this one! It's horrible!

I keep getting tagged in the pig having an existential crisis one too but at least that is funny!

I have not seen this as I don't FB. But there are some videos on you tube of guinea pigs going on super hero like adventures around a kindergarten on remote control vehicles (no helmets thankfully). I still don't agree with it. Some see it as harmless fun but if that piggy falls out there can be serious injury.

Animals are entertaining but the best entertainment is watching them doing something natural not zipping about in RC Vehicles for kids to laugh at.

That's the key right there isn't it? The nail firmly on the head. If you can't find pleasure enough in an animal doing what it naturally does then that animal isn't for you, and you are not for that animal. No-one likes being forced to do something that doesn't come naturally and they are not toys. Appreciate an animal for it's true self or don't get one!

I was also tagged - poor little piggies... they must have been so uncomfortable !

Quite agree with all that has been said. I was so angry when I saw it, and could only think how terrified the piggies must've been. Also, surely it's dangerous.

It reminded me very much of when we first got Bramble and she would freeze with fear. They barely move, at one point I was wondering if they were taxidermied until the little ginger one moved his head. They have an instagram apparently with them sitting on dogs, toy horses etc. Totally and unecessarily stupid. Theyre wonderful little animals without being treated like toys.
