Hi

I just wondered if any of you can help.

I was checking Scruffys teeth this morning and his front ones now have a gap inbetween them which he has never had before. I tried to wobble them with my nail and they do seem to be moving ever so slightly.

Is this a problem do you think? He is eating and drinking fine, i am just a bit concerned.

I'm not sure Emily? But this is to bump this thread to the top, hopefully someone will respond. I'd maybe keep him off hard veggies til it settles down, but don't quote me on it

Thanks Claire

I havent a clue either, lets hope someone else knows a bit more!

Sometimes if they have had something stuck between the teeth like a piece of hay, food it will widen them, I have noticed before but usually within a day or two they are back to the usual position.

Unless your piggy isnt eatting and the teeth are wobbly then I wouldnt worry too much.

I also don't know ... sorry.

I have had a problem in the past when Joey's front teeth kept breaking off but that was because he wasn't eating a proper diet as he was poorly.

Did you see anything between the teeth when you got home?

i had a look and i can see something caught inbetween it but i cant seem to get it out. anyone advise whether leave it or use something to push it out?!

New question!

I have be3en checking Scruffys teeth because of the above and have noticed the teeth are now fine but there is a dried out residue around the bottom of his lip - could this be dribble from the parted teeth and not overgrown teeth? he is eating fine, and is 7 months soon. I dont think it could be overgrown teeth could it?

Some pigs are very sloppy when they are eatting and I wouldnt worry too much about the muck around the lips, usually its cleaned off when they are bathing themselves.
Dribbly foods like tomatoe, grapes etc can leave some muck.

lol, dribbling piggie! hehe, thanks Emma, i just get worried as my other piggies died of teeth problems when i was younger and didnt know any better.

i think it could have been from the gappy teeth he had earlier this week!

no hes teeth arent chipped, they are all ok, i think hes just dribbled badly when he was gappy last week! hehe!
