I'm doing work experience at a vets at the mo...O0 Today was my first day of a week there although Ive done w/ex before at another vets.

There was a little bun who had to be P.T.S - as his head, ears, boys parts etc were so swollen.. he looked so poorly. It was myxomatosis. :( RIP Scrumpy...

They also had an aby boar guinea approx 3 years old (asolutely gorgeous - black and ginger)... and boy was he boney! He's anorexic - not eating anything- went outside to pick him some dandilion leaves and when I put them in the cage his little friend ate them ::) But he's just in there to be observed at the moment. Is it most likely to be tooftie problems causing that to happen or possibly other things? They seemed to think it was a bit of a mystery.

just thought I'd share that with you all :) If I see anything else of interest I'll let you know O0

Awww poor bun :'( :'( :'( :'(

I would keep a close eye on the piggy it will be interesting to see what the outcome is, let us know!

Has the vet actually examined the teeth and throat, properly I mean, not just trying to look with an otoscope?.

Pain can also cause anorexia.

Another possibilty is a cyst in the throat .

I dont know to be honest - not when I was there. Only saw them syringe feeding him - and giving him some baytril. :-\ I'll ask about him tomorrow... he might not be there tomorrow though. Just intrigued to know why he's like it to be honest. They seem to be in good condition generally. Oooooh they were lurrrvely little aby boys :smitten: Thanks for that Mary O0

I'm only there for a week so might not know the outcome...
