My son has a homework project to do - he can choose anything he wants and has chosen guinea pigs, which i think is great as it means he can learn a lot more about his little pets (and so will I!)

I would love to hear any little facts, tips, stories, info on the different breeds, legends - anything that will make his project interesting

Look forward to reading

PS Josh is 10

oh and an extra thought - if anyone has any funny or interesting photos they don't mind Josh using in his project they your babies may have a moment of fame..!

They are often very curious

They can have long or short hair, sometimes they chew each others hair, thats why Rosie looks a bit scruffy

They often sleep with their eyes open.
Poppy is so protective of her friends that she chases cats away. If the cats come to investigate the piggies when they are outside Poppy will run up to the wire and raise her chin, poor little cats get all confused and go away.

If they can't see you, they think you can't see them

Niki - your outdoor pics are gorgeous.

My fav piggie fact is that the babies come out already seeing and furry and that within days they begin to eat solids.

Loving all of these brill photos! Making my Wednesday morning a bit brighter!
Keep them coming xx

They need lots of space to run around...

They live in herds with one boy and his wifes... as you can see Fred is demonstrating how he is at the top of the herd.

What a fantastic cage you have! No wonder you are wondering how to get it back to Scotland!
