I built my guinea a new cage, it's 8' x 2' with a feeding platform, the ramp up to the feeding platform is like most ramps you get with the c&c cages (but this cage is wooden) . but he wont use the ramp, i tried placing him on the platform so he could see the ramp but he just jumped down. has anyone else had this ? how do i get him to use it?

I got my boys to go up the ramp by putting nice food on the ramp and in the loft, took them a while but they got there in the end :)

Thanks, maybe i'm just being impatient! I'll give him some more time, his brother is bringing him food down as he has worked it out - maybe he's just being lazy! :)

It may be due to the gradient of the ramp, otherwise I'd just keep placing tasty treats on there to entice him up! Mine never really got the idea of having a ramp to a second level, but I know plenty of piggies love having a loft area!

Have you tried just placing him upstairs and then leaving him to figure out how to get down again ? :)

if its wooden it might be he has no grip try carpeting it, i used offcuts and mine go up and down mine no problem :)

Has the ramp got anything covering it for grip? You could cut a carpet tile down to size & glue it on.
