Hi
I am needing some advice
I have just got two male GP for my daughter. One has got quite long hair under his tummy and the bedding is sticking to him when he is going to the toilet. We are having to clean him.
At the moment I use the blue paper type bedding from a large pet store. Wondered if wooden pellets would be better?

I wouldn’t recommend wooden pellets for the whole cage as they will get sore feet standing on it all day. There are other types of paper bedding available such as fitch. It comes in large bales and works out cheaper than carefresh. Some people use fleece cage liners but I know it’s not for everyone. Also you could try trimming the long hair so the paper doesn’t stick.

Forgot to say :wel: to the forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I don't know what country you are from and you might want to add this to your profile so that advice can be tailored to you. I currently used aubiose with my lot, its a hemp based bedding designed for horses where the wee soaks to the bottom layer and the top layer stays dry. I also have a long haired male who has issues keeping himself clean down below. I find a damp flannel cloth once a week or fortnight (depends how messy he has been) along with keeping his bum hair nicely trimmed really does help as well

I use Back 2 Nature paper pellets.
