I am writing a book about Guinea Pigs. Does anybody want to write an article for it? All you need to do is e-mail me at [email protected], paste your article, full name and article title, then send it off to me. I will try to get the book published and i will dedicate it to the helpful members of The Guinea Pig Forum! It is just about people putting all their care tips, schedules, food recomendations and other things you wish to add in! Thanks For Your Help.

Regards, Rose.

Also any ideas on what to call the book. BTW if you want to include pictures of your Piggies, just add their names and breeds and i will put the pictures under your name. Your are aloud to submit multiple articales, submit as many as you want!

I think it is an interesting idea, but it takes a lot of work, research and time to be able to write and edit a book that people are going to be interested in. A magazine is a more feasible idea, luckily there is one being organised at the moment, the thread is here: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=49534

I have had piggies myself for 7 years. I wrote a book myself a few years ago, but found myself editing it so frequently as I learnt more, so much of the information changed and expanded so often it was quite surprising. I think you have to build up as many experiences and explore as many viewpoints as possible before taking on the challenge of a book, especially as a lot of people will contest the ideas put forward in the book - not everyone will agree with what you write about. It is important to be able to back up (be able to explain the reason behind what you write) as much as you can, and to do that you do need years of experience to fall back on. I feel more able to write a decent book now than I did a few years ago, but I don't feel I would be ready to publish a book for some years yet; I need to experience and explore in much more detail what I know and believe and why I know and believe it - I have to be 100% sure and believe in what I am writing about because someone, somewhere, is likely to question it. (That's the downside to publishing stuff!)
