Guineapigs living with degus?

Hay-a-holics

Anyone any experience of this, personally I don't see the point but out of curiosity few questions. No intention of doing this btw.

Is it safe for both animals?
How are introductions done?
Diet wise how do you find it?
Any other info. as to why or why not to?
 
I would say no it's not safe for both animals.
Intro's shouldn't be done!
Diet - they both have different dietary needs.
Why not? 2 different species needing different habitats, different diets & can't communicate with each other & would probably injur one another.

That's all i can think of off the top of my head :)

Why would anyone want to do this?
 
No intention I don't even have or intend to have Degus, was just reading a Wikopedia thing on guinea pigs and it said on it that they can be kept with Degus as their diet is similar..could they of mixed up guineas with chins.

If you put guinea pigs into the wikopedia you will see the info. they give on it.
 
Wiki shouldn't be taken as gospel you can change it yourself. :)
