I have two female guinea pigs age approx 2 years old. They are rescue pigs which I got from a neighbour who abandoned them when they moved out about 18 months ago.
Now 18 months later they will not stop fighting, they are both females. They've drawn blood several times so they have been seperated for almost two weeks and I have tried to introduce thEm again every day. But I'm having no luck! They have a hutch and free run for about 6 hours a day on a long big space. They haven't really fought before but now I don't know what to do! :( please help!

They reckon once they draw blood you can't put them back together, this happened to me with two boars, I've ended up getting one a new friend and the other is going to be neutered so he can go with the sows :/

That's so sad because the one with long fur literally kept the other alive when they were abandoned in a yard in winter! And they always used to cuddle on the sofa together I don't know what's gotten into them!

Yes, I'm afraid it's true, they will need to remain separated. At that age, they have really got into adulthood and clearly are both dominant. I'd look at getting them each a companion and do some piggy bonding sessions to ensure they are compatible. It's important to remember that like humans, they can fall out and not want to be friends anymore.

Can you add your location to your profile so specific advice on possible rescue centre bonding can be given?

Unfortunately getting anymore guineapigs is an impossibility.
I live away at university so my mum cares for them whilst I'm away and she doesn't want to get any more because it will double the financial need and new hutch and run costs which we don't have.
We have had about 6 guineapiga over the years but this is the first time this have ever happened!

OH that's a shame. when you tried to reintroduce them, had you bathed them and put them into a neutral zone? Is there anyway you could keep them separated in the hutch but can still see one another?

Thanks for adding your location.
