Guineas Ear

One of my guinea pigs has a white ear like it has been scrathing is it anything to worry about

Please have your guinea pig checked for a fungal infection tomorrow if possible. Depending on whether it is ringworm or not, you may treat all piggies within contact. Please do not touch the ear and wash your hands very thoroughly after being in contact with the piggies. Ringworm is one of th very few things that transmits between a lot of species, including humans.
How long have you had your guinea pigs?

Looks like it could be fungal to me, it could spread quickly between other pigs and even humans! :yikes:

It won't spread immediately but it fungal is highly contagious, a vets visit is best :)

What kind of cage are they in? Good ventilation also helps to keep fungal at bay but it won't fix it once it starts.

Good hygiene is important too so that it doesn't spread to you too! :)

You really need to see a vet to find out exactly what it is and get the proper treatment. Only a vet can tell you what it is and how to treat it. There is a vet locater at the top of the page of piggy savvy vets.

I don't know of that post but I've not heard of any kind of lotion you can buy that will cure fungal unfortunately. It's very hard to get rid of.

Hi I have chatted to a vet the day and said that it could be dry skin and I am going to the pet shop to see if they have somthing for it
