I have 2 young females who are happy, health and very lively. Should I be concerned that they hardly drink any water. They have plenty of greens and seem fine otherwise. Thanks

Some pigs drink more than others. Are they still peeing ok, and is the colour still normal? If so, don't worry they're getting all their water requirements from their fresh food.

My current boars hardly drink anything. I know they can use their water bottles as I have seen them have the odd sip. During the hot spell I've made sure that they've had plenty of wet fresh grass and veg.

Welcome to the forum. Some piggies drink more thn others. Our first two girls hardly ever drank, our current gang do... We always make sure the veg is oaking wet so they get a lot of moisture that way, I would imagine yours are too.

All my girls drink loads of water, find the water bottle hanging off quite often but Rory's not a big drinker has the occasional drop.

I've noticed my boys also don't drink much water!

You shouldn't have anything too worry about, as long as they get the veg!

Thanks everyone, that's re-assured me.They get plenty of veg and are very lively.

Mr M and Wally Whiskers never drank much although they did increase their intake a bit when I swapped the plastic bottles for glass ones - piggies definitely prefer those.
The Posse and The Cinnamon Buns are constantly chugging water down! Rosie makes a right racket! :)

Thanks-this has been useful for us too-we have 2 new little females and even thou we have a glass bottle they aren't drinking much. Always give them leaves straight after washing so they have water intake that way and they seem fine. Always nice to have reassurance as a new piggy owner!

it takes my single pig 5 days to go threw her 600ml water bottle and my pair 1 week to go threw 2 600ml water bottles

My two girls suddenly seem to have started drinking. Maybe they didn't need so much when they were small but need more now they are bigger.

Thats good to hear then-how old are they? Mine are almost 3 months. I did wonder if maybe they drink more when they were older. Did think of trying a bowl but then thought not very good idea cos of dirty feet in bowl etc etc....!

I've had piggies that I'd never seen drink, I always gave them a bottle and a bowl of water but they always had plenty of greens and grass which is what gives them the moisture they need.
Cucumber is a very good food to give them if you're concerned about this

as already said they are probably getting plenty moisture from their veg. Also make sure to give them clean water every day, if it goes stale its not very nice and they may not want to drink it.

Yes-change it every day but still no difference and yes cucumber good but someone told me no more than a slice a day or can give them diarrhoea?
