iv just been trawling through gum tree for the last half hour to see if they got any cheap outfoor hutchs or runs, 1st i got angry but now I'm furious, the amount of people tryin to sell there piggies n rabbits 4 stupid amounts of money, but also some of the pictures have really got my bk up, a rabbit in what i can only describe as a hamster cage it was so small. does anybody else ever look through these kinds of things only to want to go to these people house and buy these pets just to save them ! rant over... i feel slightly better now thats off my chest grrr

well thats how i ended up with my first piggy norah, being sold on ebay, in a hamster cage, an actual hamster cage. drove down and got her, she was only supposed to stay for a wheeeeeek! x

there are like 5 i have seen so far i really wanna go get tem but i only had my 2 for less than a week and the ones not doign so well. so gettin more i think is not a ** idea. i mean there are quiet a few in my area that are advertised solitary in outdoor hutchs, i mean thats not much of a life is it, other thing i wonder is if i was to save one n it was female and i kept her indoors is she likly to wind my 2 males up if they can smell a female?

i quite often think people have pigs in wayyyy too small cages....and i mean half the time the cages they sell as guinea pig cages would surely only house hamsters....at least until you have pigs you may not be aware but these companies should know better and really should do some homework before calling them pig cages grrrrrr pow-pow

When I was looking for a cage there were people advertising 60cm cages saying suitable for rabbits :o:o I would feel bad putting a piggy in that as a temporary home but a rabbit? Seriously?pow-powpow-powpow-pow

awww poor rabbits have it hard too dont they, god i cant cope with all this horribleness :...

Thank god for people that love furries x)

Thank God there aren't ads like that around here (Ireland), or I'd definitely end up buying some! You only get the odd guinea pig ad every few months, but none that look too neglected.

Though I did see one ad selling a male and female guinea pig and the female was heavily pregnant. grrrr Oh and their reason for selling them was, "getting into rabbits". I was going to buy her but when I rang them they said she was sold. I hope she went somewhere well . . . :0

yea there was one i saw advertising 3 females, as they want more space for the new rabbit... n another advertisng one male and one female same age un neautered, think they were 1, clearly just used them for breading now goingto get rid n start again, what idiots,

I also saw an advert that said "2 guinea pigs to swap for any other animal". I got so angry - it's like saying 'I'm bored with the animals I made a commitment to.. Why don't you bring me a new one so that I can eventually get rid of it too.'

I've seen many ads like these. It really is annoying as we know what is wrong, but these people tink they are in the right grrrr (Also (N.Moore), please don't use text speak as we have members from all over the world, whose first language isn't necessarily English. Thanks )

I try not to go onto the Swedish gumtree equvalent too often as it nearly always ends with me wanting to bring animals home... it's how I ended up with my little foster pig, Willy :)

I saw 2 of the piggies that I rehomed earlier in the year on Freeads... The owner wanted 20 quid for them and there cage was a cage for a small rat!

I actually paid her the money, just to rehome them.... There living with a vet and her husband now in North Yorkshire on a farm! The other half went mad with me but I just cant help it.

I have my 6 piggies and I love them soooo much. When I get rehoming piggies in, I have to seperate my emotions because I want to keep them all.

I'm probley really sad but if I see an ad like that on the internet, it does my head in all day...

I was speaking to the manager at P @ H yesterday and he even agreed that when some people buy guinea pigs, they dont realise the responsibilty that goes with it.
