Gut stasis help

I took my guinea pig (5 y/o male) to the vets earlier today after noticing he’s been off his food and not had much to drink today and they were worried about gut stasis so he was given a Vomend Injection whilst there and Supreme Science Recovery Feed for home
How often should I be trying to give him it and how much each time?
Also they said to still try and encourage him to eat on his own so I was going to go the shop to get him some of his favourite things but is there anything in particular that’s recommended to feed to help with gut stasis?

I'm no expert but with other recovery feeds I think they suggest about 50ml a day on here just to keep the guinea going. Some people here put recovery feed in a bowl to allow their guinea to eat by itself if it wants. Hay is the most important and if your guinea can't eat that on their own or not enough recovery food replaces that.

He needs at least 60ml in each 24 hour period. 40ml-60ml is the amount you may only be able to get into a very ill piggy, but no less than 40ml as that is the minimum amount.

You give as much as he will take at each sitting.
The less he takes at each sitting, the more sittings you need to do to get to the amounts of feed required.
He will likely need to be fed every 2 hours.

Please make sure you weigh him every morning as that is the guide as to whether you have given him enough syringe feed the previous day:
If his weight is stable day on day then he is getting enough.
If he loses weight day on day then he was not given enough in the previous day and needs to be given more in the current day.

Fibre is the most important thing, so without hay intake the recovery feed is essential.
Putting the recovery feed in a bowl is not likely to work in a piggy who is not wanting to eat and is on the verge of stasis so cannot be relied upon during critical stages.

Were you given any gut stimulating meds to give him at home?
