As per my previous thread that Gwen was struggling to put on and maintain weight, today we had to rush her up to the vets as she started bleeding from her private parts. The vet thinks that she has pyometra so she's on antibiotics, metacam and emeprid. Thankfully she is still eating well. We are keeping her under observation for the next couple of days to make sure she continues to eat and to keep her fluids up. She's currently sat having the life of riley in her cat carrier next to me munching on a piece of cucumber. She has another appointment at the vets on Friday but they are on call if anything changes.

My poor little lady :( Thanks to this forum though I am prepared and already have everything I need if I have to syringe feed her (which hopefully I won't need to do). Any advice is welcome though, it's horrible when they are poorly :(

Thank you. Thankfully she is still herself at the moment and even after getting mad at the vet during the examination she proceeded to enjoy cuddles from the receptionists whilst I was waiting for her drugs to be ready.

Sending lots of love and vibes to Gwen. What Antibiotics is she on?

Thank you Lee. She's only got Baytril at the moment (grr) but it nothing improves I am going to ask for Septrin.

Poor Gwen, hope she feels better soon. Has she been spayed or is the vet waiting to see what happens. I love Gwens facial expression.
Healing vibes coming your way & hugs for you Mum

No she hasn't been spayed. We are hoping we caught it soon and get on top of it.

Aww poor Gwen :(

Ellen was passing fresh, pure blood a few months ago. An ultrasound and x ray both came back normal and after a course of Septrin, it stopped.

We are still having issues with her having traces of blood in her urine.

They're such a worry xx

They are terrible, making us panic. I was so scared when I found her with blood all over her :(

Just settled Gwen back with her pals for the evening, she's tucking into some trio leaf. I'm so glad that she's still got her appetite. Thankfully (not so much for me) I'm off work this week ill so I can keep a very close eye on her.

It's so hard when they give you a scare like this, she still looks very perky so no doubt your prompt attention has caught this early. Healing vibes from me and mine x

Gwen is so far still herself which is great. Took her meds this morning no problem. What worries me is she is still oozing fresh blood from her back end. Not huge amounts but it still worries me.

Oh no poor Gwen. Fingers crossed she gets better soon for both your sakes. Good that she's still herself and eating.

Gwen finally stopped by bleeding yesterday afternoon which is a good sign. She's back at the vets this evening for another check.

I would get her metacam as well
