So I open up the back door to go and feed the guineas and the rabbit...except the Guinea Pigs literally start screaming. Demanding me for attention. At first; I thought one of them had died or something and then I saw the rabbit hutch.

It was open.

I start to panic as I know fully well that I locked her in last night, and the hutch door was closed.

So...I start to panic and call her name and then...she comes running up from one end of garden and rubbing up against my leg. Thank god Chappy is a social bunny! But I scooped her up with one hand while ringing my vet with the other. While talking to the vet she...quite happily jumped from the table to my shoulder and nuzzles her way to her favourite spot. I do have a check up booked in for this evening as I have no idea how long she was out there for - but she's a lot warmer and started to eat the veggies I gave her.

Mental note to self, bring them inside and get locks. Still hugging her and forget college today I think.

Oh what a shock. I remember when my sow , Bess nearly escaped . It upset me so much, it took a good 2 hours for me to recover. I'm glad you found Chappy OK

She's okay - but I was totally not impressed! I think what happened is my brother went to feed her and didn't slide the bolt in far enough and she kicked it open during the night. I'm just glad she's alright.

I'm glad too.

I hate it when scary things like that happen, you just feel so hot and sick don't you. So glad she is alright.

Well I talked to my brother as he didn't bother to shut the door properly - so what happened was she leaned against it during the night and must have gotten out. He gave me loads of attitude and just acted like he didn't care cause apparently it was cold and he tried to shut it. He's nearly 15 for goodness sake! I told him she could have got taken by a fox of died from the cold and he said "no foxes in Yate" when he knows full well there are tons! He just couldn't give a flying care if she died or not!

Really making me think. I'll have to study away from home at University and the plan was to leave them at home so when I finish uni and move out; I can take all the animals with me. But seeing this and how my parents are, I'm scared I'll be forced to rehome them...and I don't want to do that; I wanted to keep them with me once I finish. It's not fair for me to have to give them away as my parents won't look after them....

I got a year to think it over but it's ripping my heart out.

Least you have her back now, my cat got stuck behind the wall the other day and had no idea where she was, was crying my eyes out while my boyfriend just sat on the sofa, boys/men aren't very good when it comes to being emotive, maybe it's best if you just look after them for now so no one else is to blame if an accident happens, I'm sure he feels really bad inside! If you're in yate, you're not far from me :)
