I was wondering...

My Piggy looks well and everything, but few weeks now, his hair has been falling out. Whenever I comb him, a lot of hair falls out.

Also, when I put him on me while lying down, a lot of his hair remains on my shirt.

I don't have him a long time (bought him about a month and a half ago), but his hair didn't fall out as much before.

I thought, instead of starting to panic and taking him to the vet, I should ask here first. What do you think, is there anything for me to worry about?

It's not really that much hair (if he was a cat, I wouldn't even begin to worry), and everything else about him seems healthy.

i think that sounds very normal. he's just sheddding. i wouldnt worry. gilbert sheds alot too. it gets all over the towels i use and his cage and my shirt too. i wouldnt worry too much. he sounds healthy anyways:)

It might be just shedding. Has he come indoors from an outside hutch? Or the other way round?

If he isn't scratching himself enthusiastically or starts showing bald patches or flaky skin, I wouldn't worry too much, but keep an eye on him, just to be on the safe side.

Well, he has been scratching himself a lot since I got him, but he has flees (actually one flee). I can't seem to get rid of it.

As for the other thing - no.

If he scratches a lot, I would treat him with xeno450 (ivermectin), as he most likely has some unwelcome visitors - not all are visible to the eye!

I wouldn't just treat him with medicine if you don't exactly what he has.
Could be everything: dermatophyte, lice (biting lice), mites even lack of nutrients.

Please let it check by a veterinary.

It is always better to go the vet anyway!
