Hi

Just wondered if anyone could help me as i am slightly concerned about my pig.

In the last two days i have noticed a lack of fur around its left side of its nose. It has a vitamin rich diet so could not be put down to this.

It does live with two half brothers but whenever i see them they seem to be getting along fine and normally huddle up together.

As for the lump, it is very small and can only be felt when a small amount of pressure is applied. whenever i try to look the pig gets distressed so i normally leave it. This has been for the last week and a half.

Please post a reply if you can help me
Thanks

Sorry to hear this. Do you have any photos to post on here of the problems?

Obviously we aren't vets on here but there are many members with lots of experience with guinea pigs that perhaps could guide you in the right direction. However, if you are in any doubt or worried, then please do consult the opinion of a vet.

Welcome to the forum.

Since you refer to your guinea pig as "it", can you just confirm whether it's male or female?

Whereabouts on the abdomen is the lump? Is it hard or soft? It's most likely to be a harmless sebaceous cyst, which is generally small and soft, but there are other 'lumps' that can afflict guineas.

Fungal skin conditions can start with hairloss on the face, although parasitic problems do also lead to hairloss.
