I have 2 male guinea pigs (Guinea Cow - 2 year old Abyssinian, and Dumpling - 4 month old Texel). Within the last week or so I've noticed Dumpling seems to be shedding some hair. Usually he has a longish afro and lately it seems shorter and less frizzy. Initially I was worried it might be mange or something of that sort but the actual thickness of the roots is no different, nor does he seem to be scratching or have any sores and his behaviour is perfectly normal.

They live on a healthy diet consisting of apples, capsicum, tomoto, cucumber, carrots, celery and occasionally oranges and strawberries, as well as the vitamin drops I put in their water, so I don't think its a deficiency, and Guinea Cow hasn't had any hair loss or anything unusual at all. I also live in Australia and its starting to enter the warmer seasons. Should I be worried or is it likely, seeing as he's a long haired Guinea, that maybe he's just shedding a little as a result of the heat or him getting older?

Yesss! The barbering picture in the link looks exactly like it. It looks like someone has given him a haircut. Is it usually a sign of aggression or just an odd habit, if Guinea Cow is the one doing it?
