Hi, my piggy Oreo has no hair on her hind legs. I adopted her on Christmas eve and we soon noticed this. I took her to the vet and was told to change her bedding to fleece, so I did. They will be fine for a day or two and then they get red again. Please help I don't know what to do to help my poor baby.

@Oreobaby Could you post a photo?

The bottoms of guinea pigs feet are bald and they have quite long soles on their feet so it could be that.

Do you know how old Oreo is?

One of my pigs went bald on his back legs. He was in pain from arthritis and he bit the hair off. Once we got him diagnosed and on medication the hair grew back.

I agree with Jaycey. Unless the hair loss is from a fungal infection, it can be a sign of arthritis. A guinea pig will self-barber when in pain locally. Several of my arthritic piggies did that.
