My 6 year old boar guiseppe has hair loss on one of his testicles, the other one is normal.Theres no redness, only what looks to be a little bit of dry skin.Theres no change in his behaviour.I'll be taking him to my local vets tomorrow but was just looking for some suggestions to what it could be as they're not the most cavy savvy.

Hi!

I would suspect either some mechanical abrasion (preferred sleeping position?) or perhaps a mild fungal infection (not ringworm).

If the vet rules out mites and fungal (always the first thing to check for of course!) Could it just be a bit of chafing where his bits are dragging on the floor, especially if he's an older boy?
Our lovely Jezzy floof was recently diagnosed with what my daughter called "saggy boob chafing" where she had sore crusty nipples and a bit of a bald tummy from them dragging on the floor- a bit of the gorgeous guineas foot cream helped a lot!

Ted has very fine fur on the base of his testicles compared to Bill, I think it’s because they are larger/heavier and tend to be a bit “low slung” while Bill’s are very pert and neat! Not that I sit comparing my boys bottoms all the time 😆

My guinea pig has exactly the same! What was it really? There was a piece of hard, pointed sawdust stuck near the gap and it probably got infected from the friction.
