I'm thinking fungal?

There is no flaky bits on the skin, no blood or sores and I haven't seen them scratching...

Also the fur is not coming out in clumps or anything like that - I pulled a piece of fur gently, in the area and it didn't just come away

Kira, it may be worth emailing your pics to Chrissie at gorgeous guineas - she's brilliant with things like this xx

The size, shape etc of the hair loss areas would indicate a fungal problem, although it would be helpful if you could post a photo that was not so close up to the pig.

These latest pictures, especially the first one, are more indicative of a generalised hair loss. I would keep in mind the possibility of hormonal hair loss, assuming the pig is a sow?

Hormonal is what I thought a few days ago and I still wonder if it's possible for the sow - but would it occur in the pups?

The babies too? You could understand that easily for the mum, not heard of it in babies before. At least you have another idea to consider. Did Chrissie recommend any treatment or just wait and see?

Aha...my personal lifeline!

I use a variant of Rescue Remedy for myself - can't leave the house without it. I have not used Rescue on pigs before but we did use it on our dogs when they were flown out to Cyprus, and it did help calm them.

I have used Bach Rescue Remedy on a few pigs years ago. I can't say that it worked all I can say is that it did no harm, maybe I should have told them it would work!
