I posted before about fudge losing hair and was wondering if anyone had any more ideas!
The hair loss started on the sides of her abdomen as general thinning, seems more transparant and duller than the rest of her coat. She wasnt itchy or biting at it- the skin was normal underneath.
It then spread backwards nearer her thighs a week later.
Another week or 2 later, she had a square bal patch directly between both hips. There was noticable dandruff down her spine by this point but not on the thinning areas on her sides.
She was checked for cysts- couldnt see any on xray or ultrasound but it was difficult to see due to having a larger amount than normal "tissue/fluid" in the abdomen from being a heart piggy. Not ascites, just a general progression from having circulatory issues.
She was then treated with xeno 450 to rule out mites , she strangely had a localised reaction to the site of application only on the second application and possibly related or unrelated diarrohea that same night. I washed the spot on off as the skin was very red and inflammed which has since returned to normal.
The hair thinning is more pronounced now.. But the hair on her sides (the main areas) is now very wirey and almost curling/crimped. Its very odd!
She still isnt itchy and only has dandruff along the spine and hips.. With clear skin over her sides and thighs where the cost is very fine and wirey.
I have been supplementing 50mg vit c daily for 2 weeks to rule out deficiancy since she does have alot of issues.. But no change and the hair loss is still progressing.
If it is hormonal then i wouldnt treat- she doesnt have any other symptoms, she has enough drugs for her damaged kidneys to process without giving her hormone therapy and surgery is literally not an option.
I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas incase this is something treatable in fudges condition. Thank you!
