Hello!

I have just noticed that one of my girls has some hair loss. It seems to me that it has been pulled out, because of the scab. I have had her for about 4 years now and she’s only had contact with her roommate so I don’t know how she would have gotten any mites. Other than the lack of hair in the area she seems perfectly fine. Any ideas? Should I see a vet or do you think this will pass?

I can send clearer pictures if necessary, she did not want to stay still! :)

Thank you in advance!

I would take her to the vet ASAP. It could be mites as they can come from hay or it could be caused by something else - I am not an expert but the one time my rabbit had mites she got a bald patch on her back a bit like your photo. But you need a vet for correct diagnosis and treatment.

Yeah, mites aren't transferred from other pigs so it's worth a vet visit @ZoeyandOlive to confirm if it is mites and to get the appropriate treatment, which will probably be a tube of drops to put on her skin.
