Hi. Both my girls have lost hair from their backs. Should I take them to the vets, or is this likely to be something I treat myself?

I would take them to the vets so you can get a definite diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Are they scratching a lot?

Yes, they have been scratching. I'll take them to the vets - best to get them checked out.

It could be mites. Probably best to get them checked by the vet as it sounds as if they could have had them a while if that's what it is. When my girls had mites they needed 3 lots of injections (a week apart) to clear them. Flumpet was scratching so badly that the vet also gave her a steroid injection to ease the itching. Let us know how you get on.
