Simple question: can guinea pigs suffer from hairballs? If so, what would be the indications?

Anybody, please? I'm asking for a friend who doesn't have access to the internet.

They shouldn't do as they don't lick themselves like cats.

What is wrong with your friends pig?

Seems to be getting blocked sometimes - not like boys can do from scraping their bottom on the floor and getting hay up, as there is no hay on the floor. She first thought it was undigested hay having difficulty passing out, but the last lot she managed to extract seemed to consist of hair rather than hay. It's not happening all the time, just every so often, but when she notices he's not pooping, she takes a look, unblocks him, and all is well. And no, it's not impaction.
