Hallie And Uri?

5 days. I have knocked it down to one dose a day per recommendation of the vet. After 2 doses of probiotic she still had very wet stool.

Please speak to your vet, are the poos getting worse?

In the meantime, try and get as much probiotic into her as you can, by syringe if needed, I know it's difficult but she needs it. Stop any fruit or veg too and keep her on hay and dry food until the poos firm up. Also if you have any Dioralyte she can have that for rehydration and electrolytes.

I just spoke to the vet and all she said was to give probiotic and give baytril once a day instead of 2. Hallie is eating and drinking on her own sufficiently and I have cut out all veggies. They are not getting worse, they are the same. How often do I give the probiotic?

As much as you can throughout the day but it needs to be at least an hour apart from the Baytril. Maybe give 5ml every couple of hours, though I know you may have to fit it around work.

UPDATE:
Hallie has gone to see a different vet. She is now on Bactrim to kill off whatever is left of the URI and to help kill off any bad flora that grew in her GI system while she was on the Baytril. She is still on a probiotic 2X day after her Bactrim as well. The vet also gave us some Nystatin ointment for her bottom because it is very red and swollen from the diarrhea hence why she is squealing in pain everytime she goes. I have given the ointment twice today and while she is still in pain, she has had one poo that was more solid than the diarrhea she has had for 2 days. I am hoping that the pain is a little less which allowed her to pass a semi formed stool. Either that or the Baytril is finally leaving her little body. If the diarrhea has not passed by Friday I must go back to the vet for some critical care and an antibioitc change. She beat this URI so she can beat this GI upset!

Sounds promising, I think Bactrim is the same as Septrin in the UK (no idea how I didn't click that you were in the US) and it is kinder on the gut though your vet is right to continue the probiotics. Hope her bottom is less sore once the cream starts to work. Nystatin is an anti-fungal treatment normally. Good that she has done a firmer poo.
