Adult Guinea Pig
Hi all,
Sorry for not posting for a while, I've been struggling with life somewhat.
Anyway the good news is that Hamish & Dougal are back together (hope I'm not speaking too soon). I separated them some months ago after a fight and Hamish ended up with a nasty abscess. They have been living side by side since and have had some runs out together which have always ended up with me feeling uneasy about putting them back in the cage together, even though I know Hamish has been getting lonely.
This afternoon they were out in the run for one and a half hours with no incidents and so I cleaned out both cages, removed the corner house which I think had been a bone of contention, and linked the cages together as one. I watched them for about an hour and there was only the occasional facing up, so I bit the bullet so to speak and left them together while I went out for tea. Imagine my delight when I returned to find them both sleeping on the snuggle cosies, within a couple of inches of each other.
As I type, there are occasional squeakings but otherwise all is well. Hopefully they will be ok now. Not sure how well I will sleep tonight though!
